New surface applied Saturday, May 7, 2022
The Southchase 6 tennis court is undergoing a much needed repair to the surface of the court and surrounding fencing. A team of blacktop experts arrived on site last weekend with heavy equipment along with three dump trucks full of asphalt material. The tennis court has never been resurfaced and was badly cracked in many places, some cracks as wide as two inches. The condition of the court posed a trip and fall hazard to players and needed to be addressed for the safety of all residents.
1.5 inches of heated asphalt were applied to the surface of the court, then rolled flat and smooth to one inch thick by the rolling machine. This new surface requires 30 days to cure before the next process can begin. It's important for everyone to stay off the surface while the court is under repair.
