Southchase 6 Primarily Spared
Our SC6 neighborhood survived Hurricane Ian pretty well compared to the destructive wind force from Hurricane Irma almost exactly 5 years ago. There are areas of flooding in the neighborhood and the lake has reached a record level, close to 2 feet higher than normal.
The intersection of Balcombe road and Braxted is flooded. To leave the neighborhood, go out the Wellington entrance to Wetherbee road.
Balcombe Road at Braxted Flooded
Flooded Streets
Park Flooded
Wind Damage
Lake at record levels
Be safe when venturing out from the neighborhood. If you can, it's best to stay home for another day until waters recede and first responders have time to carry out critical operations.
Thanks for being a member of the Southchase 6 community!
