Support a local farmer!

Who is Mick Farms?

A first generation, small family farm raising their eight kids & crops in the Sunshine state.

St. Cloud Farm

Mick Farms is a family-owned 32 acre farm located on Canoe Creek road in St. Cloud and only 25 minutes from Southchase 6. Their farm stand offering locally grown produce is open from 10am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and noon to 4pm on Sunday.

Not all produce can be grown here in Central Florida, so Mick Farms works with other local and regional farmers to bring in additional items to round out their selection. This week, the sweet potatoes are from a farm in Mississippi, the onions are from a farm in Georgia, and the apples are from Washington state.

Get a produce box for the week

Here is my produce haul from the $30 produce box, which included: broccoli, jalapeno peppers, red pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, oranges, zucchini, red onion, sweet onion, plums, peaches, sweet potatoes, iceberg lettuce, grapes, and baby red potatoes. You can check out their website to see what's in season at mickfarmsmarket.com.

I made a salad using some of the iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and red pepper and tossed it with a simple homemade dressing using the juice of an orange, honey, and half a jalapeno pepper diced. My entire meal was local and fresh. Amazing!

For those of you who would like to support a local farmer, we are considering coordinating a produce pickup service that will bring your order to Southchase 6 where you can pick it up at the park on the designated day and time. More details will follow, but if you are interested in this program, please RSVP to the Local Produce Order on the Upcoming Events page on Southchase6.com.

Thanks for being a member of the Southchase 6 community!
